As part of the City of Brampton’s ongoing efforts to hear and incorporate resident feedback, the City held a Recreation Telephone Town Hall on June 17th 2026.
Residents heard directly from Councillor Rowena Santos, Mayor Patrick Brown, the City’s Recreation team, and other members of Council about key recreational updates, facilities and services that are building a healthier, active and stronger Brampton.
In conversation with residents throughout the Telephone Town Hall, residents shared the following feedback about the City’s current recreation offerings:
- 94% support free recreation programs for seniors.
- 39% support ActiveAssist continuing to be available to all age groups.
- 22% selected outdoor racquet sports as the top priority for new investments (among nine sport options).
- 71% support additional outdoor pools for public use.
- 73% support expanding outdoor rinks for free public hockey and skating.
- 85% support investing in underutilized school fields to create more recreation opportunities
These conversations help shape the future of recreation in Brampton and ensure we continue to provide meaningful programs, services and amenities that improve the health and well-being of our residents. Thank you for taking the time to share what matters most to you and your community.
