Project E.R.A.S.E. to Crack Down on Street Racing and Dangerous Driving
Peel Regional Police have kicked off the 2025 edition of Project E.R.A.S.E., a joint crackdown on illegal street racing and stunt driving across the GTA. With a 154% spike in charges since 2022, the campaign runs from May to October, combining targeted enforcement, community engagement, and tougher penalties—including $800 fines and vehicle impoundments. In 2024, over 2,100 charges were laid and 1,119 vehicles investigated. Partnering with local police forces and led in part by Brampton Councillor Rowena Santos, the initiative supports Vision Zero and aims to make streets safer for everyone.
