Grant available for neighbourhood improvements in Brampton under newly approved Neighbourhood Association Guide

Brampton’s committee of council has greenlit a new Neighbourhood Association Guide, endorsed by Coun. Rowena Santos, offering a grant of up to $1,500 for eligible groups and projects. This guide aims to assist residents in establishing neighbourhood associations, fostering community bonds, and encouraging collaborative efforts to enhance Brampton’s diverse neighbourhoods. By formalizing community organization, residents can engage with the city, implement local ideas, and strengthen their sense of belonging, as expressed by Santos. Neighbourhood associations, comprised of residents, serve to identify community strengths and weaknesses and collectively work towards improving quality of life. The grant will aid in neighbourhood beautification and safety measures, supporting initiatives such as cleanup drives, beautification events, trail revitalization, and community-building activities, with more details available on Brampton’s community safety and well-being page.
