Third Annual Brampton Summer Artist Market
A record 33 vendors and local arts organizations participated in Brampton’s Annual Summer Artist Market, including the first ever Youth Arts Market, showcasing the work of 11 young people. From handcrafted jewelry, ceramics, and book arts to original prints and paintings, the artist market offered a wonderful opportunity to support local artists and arts organizations.
City of Brampton unveils new Emancipation Day Memorial
The City of Brampton has unveiled a new memorial artwork, “Fah Who Dis? AstroBlack Joy,” in Emancipation Park to commemorate Emancipation Day, celebrated on August 1. This artwork features vibrant sculptures symbolizing the resilience and cultural heritage of Black-identifying Canadians and invites reflection on the ongoing fight against racism.

The “FIESTA EXTRAVAGANZA” at Chinguacousy Park in Brampton celebrated Filipino culture with vibrant traditions and community spirit. City of Brampton honors William G. Davis with new monument and declares July 30 as Bill Davis Day
The City of Brampton will honor former Premier Bill Davis with a memorial artwork at the Peel Art Gallery, set for completion in spring 2025. Designed by Xiaojing Yan and Lilly Otasevic, it reflects Davis’ contributions. Bill Davis Day is proclaimed for July 30, 2024.
Brampton Unveils Inaugural Public Art Strategy: An Artful Future
The City of Brampton unveils “Brampton: An Artful Future,” its first Public Art Strategy, a five-year plan aimed at shaping inviting and inclusive public spaces while honoring the city’s distinctive character. With input from over 1,000 local artists and residents, the strategy reflects diverse values and aims to expand the public art collection, showcasing talented local artists and promoting community engagement.
Record Breaking Youth Council Turnout for Teramoto Park Clean-Up
Local youth turned out in record breaking numbers to participate in a clean-up event at Teramoto Park in Brampton. The event was organized by Brampton high school student Pradwit Thapa and drew over 350 students from across Peel Region.
“Fighter” Video Wraps Up International Women’s Month
March 26, 2024 — As International Women’s Month draws to a close, Councillor Santos, alongside her band Point of Order, delivers a musical tribute to the theme of empowerment and inclusion. Their rendition of Christina Aguilera’s anthem “Fighter” serves as a resounding call to embrace individuality and champion diversity.
