Brampton Culture Days 2024: Top Urban Community & Second Nationally

(December 12, 2024) – The City of Brampton’s 2024 Culture Days lineup of events has been recognized as the Top Participating Community in the Urban Centres category by the Culture Days organization. The City also placed second overall nationally among the Top Participating Communities listing. Culture Days is a national celebration of arts, culture and heritage. This prestigious recognition highlights the City and the community’s shared, ongoing commitment to fostering creativity, community engagement and cultural vibrancy.

Culture Days attracts millions of attendees from hundreds of municipalities to explore, engage and participate in more than 4,000 creative events nationwide. Each year, Culture Days recognizes communities from across the country for their dedication and efforts with the Top Participating Communities listing, demonstrating the depth of engagement across all regions. This past fall, Brampton’s lineup featured more than 200 free activities presented by community organizers and partners, including Brampton On Stage, Brampton Arts Organization (BAO), Brampton Public Library, Bovaird House, Downtown Brampton BIA and Peel Art Gallery Museum and Archives (PAMA), welcoming hundreds of attendees from across the community.

Culture Days 2024 was a record-breaking year across Canada, with over five million participants engaging in events and activities nationwide. Brampton played a key role in this success, offering a diverse lineup of free, inclusive and accessible events. Activities ranged from hands-on workshops and performances to tours and interactive workshops, providing opportunities for participants of all ages to explore and celebrate Brampton’s art and culture landscape.

Culture Days continues to be a key event in Brampton’s cultural calendar, supporting the goals of the City’s Culture Master Plan to increase accessibility to cultural experiences, amplify local talent and celebrate the city’s diversity.
