GTA Regional Councillors Rowena Santos and Chris Leahy are urging Canadian municipalities to block American companies from bidding on contracts if Trump imposes tariffs. They also want Ontario provincial leaders to support a province-wide ban on US bids. Santos has proposed a procurement policy change in Brampton, with a council debate scheduled for today.
