With growth in Brampton comes change. While we embrace the future, it’s equally important that we preserve the history and stories that shaped who we are today. That’s why I’m so excited about our city’s new Cultural Heritage Management Plan—a project that highlights our beautiful historic buildings, and celebrates the communities and people who give Brampton its unique identity.
To help launch this important initiative, we’re bringing history to life at the Rose Theatre. Local playwright Frank Adriano has written Razing Capitol, a play inspired by the Heritage Theatre’s rich past—from its days as the Odeon and the Capitpl, to the many unforgettable moments that unfolded on its stage. This production captures the stories, spirit, and even a few legends that surround the building’s history.
The play will take place at the Rose Theatre on September 20, with two shows (1 p.m. and 7 p.m.). It promises to make you laugh, maybe even shed a tear, and connect you to the Brampton that was, and the Brampton we are building together.
As part of Culture Days, this is the perfect chance to explore our city’s heritage, support local artists and businesses, and share in the pride of our collective story. I invite everyone—whether you’ve lived here your whole life or just arrived—to join us, experience Razing Capitol, and be part of preserving Brampton’s history while shaping its future.
Tickets are available now at Brampton On Stage. Don’t miss it!
