Meet the SYC 2025 Team!

July 29, 2025

By Felicia Pagulayan, Youth Coordinator, Santos Youth Council

Councillor Santos is proud to announce the formation of the first-ever Santos Youth Council Leadership Team. This talented group of young leaders will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our community, driving impactful initiatives, and ensuring that youth voices are heard in local decision-making. Together, they will work alongside the broader SYC membership to create meaningful change and foster a strong, engaged youth community in Brampton.

Introducing our 2025…

Co-Chairs - Anahita Kaur Chaturvedi & Ashank Charan

“Hey everyone! My name is Anahita, and I’m a Grade 12 student. Some of my interests include skateboarding, reading, soccer, and music. A fun fact about me is that I play the tenor saxophone. As the co-chair of the Santos Youth Council for 2025, I’m excited to meet all of you at our events and volunteer opportunities as we work together to make a difference in our community. If you have any questions or just want to say hi, feel free to reach out!”

“Hey everyone! My name is Ashank, and I’m excited to be one of the Co-Chairs of the Santos Youth Council this year. I’m currently in Grade 12 at Mayfield Secondary School. One of my goals for the council is to bring fresh, creative ideas that make every volunteer’s experience meaningful, engaging, and full of opportunities to learn something new each time! A quote I always like to go by and that pushes me everyday to be great is, “Be the change you wish to see, take a look around and make that change”- Mahatma Gandhi”

Director of Public Relations - Aleeza Syeda

“Aleeza is a passionate and driven student leader who serves as the Public Relations Executive for the Santos Youth Council. She is committed to amplifying youth voices, promoting inclusivity, and strengthening community connections through engaging communications and outreach. With a strong background in digital design and public speaking, Aleeza brings creativity, purpose, and heart to every initiative she leads.”

Fun Fact: Aleeza knows tons of movies and shows, so hit her up if you ever need a recommendation!

Director of Internal Affairs - Puneet Grewal

“Hi! I’m Puneet Grewal, a Grade 12 student at North Park Secondary School in the IBT Program, and I’m excited to be part of the Santos Youth Council’s Leadership Team as the Director of Internal Affairs. I’m passionate about helping things run smoothly behind the scenes and making sure our council stays organized and connected. I love reading about Philosophy, long distance running and traveling with family and friends. I’m really looking forward to contributing to meaningful projects this year and growing alongside such a motivated group of youth leaders!”

Director of Community Events - Mohammad Zyan

“Hi, my name is Mohammad Zyan! I am a grade 11 student at Brampton Centennial Secondary School. Being part of the Santos Youth Council has helped me find purpose in giving back and bringing people together. As Community Events Director, I love participating in things that make an impact. Outside of the youth council, I’m into running, politics, and engineering.”

A big congratulations to our new Leadership Team members! We can’t wait to see the incredible ideas, energy, and passion you’ll bring to the table this year. Your leadership will help shape the future of the Santos Youth Council, and we are beyond excited to see what you’ll accomplish together.

While we have finalized our SYC Leadership Team, we are also excited to share that all candidates who were not selected for the leadership positions will still play an essential role in the SYC as School Ambassadors!

We are incredibly proud of all applicants for their dedication and enthusiasm, and we look forward to seeing our new Leadership Team as well as our School Ambassadors continue to inspire and lead in their own unique ways!
