Tree Month Ends with Successful Community Planting at Newton Park – ‘A Legacy for Future Generations,’ Says Rowena Santos

In celebration of Brampton’s Tree Month, over 40 residents, along with groups like the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA) and Brampton Parks and Recreation, planted 75 shrubs along the Etobicoke Creek Trail. The event included participation from local Pinoy Pickleball members and a live painting by 9-year-old artist WSven. Councillor Rowena Santos praised the community’s engagement, highlighting the lasting environmental impact and sense of unity the event fostered. The day ended with a community BBQ, celebrating the collective achievement.
