Students win $5K for satellite diagnostic system at Brampton space tech challenge

The 2025 BramHacks competition brought 700 students together in Brampton to design solutions for the space technology sector.
Team JADE—four young Brampton innovators—won first place with Heimdall, an AI-powered satellite diagnostic tool paired with a 3D-printed robotic repair arm.
Their project aims to improve the reliability of satellites used for weather forecasting, communications, and emergency services.
Brampton leaders say the event highlights the city’s fast-growing role as a hub for space innovation and emerging tech talent.
