Santos re-elected to the Federation of Canadian Municipalities’ Board of Directors

At the 2025 FCM Conference, Brampton advocated for major investments in transit, housing, and community safety, including $3.6 billion in funding for projects like the Hazel McCallion LRT and Queen Street BRT. Councillor Rowena Santos was re-elected to the FCM board for a sixth term and received a service award, strengthening Brampton’s national influence. As Chair of FCM’s Municipal Finance, Infrastructure and Transportation Committee, Santos continues to champion federal support for affordable housing, climate action, and newcomer services. The city emphasized that municipalities need funding and a reassessment of responsibilities to deliver vital services and address growing challenges on the ground.
