New food bank celebrates grand opening in Brampton

The Brampton Food Hub, established through collaboration among several longstanding non-profit food and social services agencies and funded by the Region of Peel, is set to address hunger and food insecurity in Brampton. Located at 241 Clarence St., Unit 5, the Food Hub’s grand opening is scheduled for September 21. Led by Annie Bynoe, the Food Hub aims to increase the availability of healthy and culturally appropriate food for vulnerable members of the community. Notable attendees at the opening include Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown, Commissioner of Human Services Sean Baird, and Regional Councillors Rowena Santos and Martin Medeiros, highlighting the community-wide support for this initiative. The event is expected to run from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., symbolizing a significant step in addressing food-related challenges in Brampton.
