Emergency services were dispatched at approximately 3:00 p.m. following a major pileup involving a Züm bus and eight other vehicles near the border of Wards 1 and 5. A total of 10 people, including the transit operator and several bus passengers and people involved, were treated by Peel Paramedics for minor injuries, with 10 ambulance units deployed to ensure rapid care. The intersection remained closed for several hours to facilitate a thorough investigation by Peel Regional Police and to allow Brampton Fire to safely extricate occupants from the damaged vehicles. Peel Regional Police are currently reviewing the circumstances of the crash, including weather factors and dashcam footage, to determine the primary cause of the collision. Regional Councillor Rowena Santos encourages the community to remain vigilant of vulnerable road users and emphasizes the importance of patience and reduced speeds during the winter season to prevent further traumatic incidents.
