Four Designs Vie to Transform Squares in Downtown Brampton

Downtown Brampton is seeing unprecedented investment, with projects like Riverwalk flood protection, the approved LRT tunnel extension, and the Centre for Innovation moving ahead. Granite sidewalks, cycle tracks, and infrastructure upgrades are being added to support rising mixed-use development and create a more vibrant public realm. Public consultation has shaped redesigns for Ken Whillans and Garden Squares, with four design proposals featuring new stages, seating, water features, and improved event space. Deputy Mayor Harkirat Singh and Councillor Rowena Santos unveiled the submissions on May 27, marking a major step forward in Brampton’s downtown renewal.
