Brampton cracking down on illegal car rallies with hefty new fines

In response to rising complaints about illegal car rallies and street racing, Brampton has introduced higher fines, ranging from $800 to $2,000, for dangerous driving behaviors. Peel police have increased patrols and enforcement, issuing thousands of charges for stunt driving and noisy vehicles. Councillor Rowena Santos emphasized the new fines’ importance for public safety, while road safety advocates like Manan Gupta welcomed the move. Additional measures, such as more speed cameras, are also being implemented to curb reckless driving.
