The City of Brampton officially declared December 1st as Philippines-Canada Friendship Day, marking 75 years of strong diplomatic relations and celebrating the Filipino community’s contributions. A special ceremony at City Hall featured speeches, cultural performances, and the lighting of the Clock Tower in the Philippine flag colors. Councillor Rowena Santos, the first Filipino elected to Brampton Council, highlighted the day as a proud recognition of Filipino-Canadians’ impact on Brampton’s cultural and economic life.
