To celebrate the end of summer and the many hours of volunteering Brampton Youth contributed to our council, the SYC hosted their annual End of Summer Youth Connect Event at the Lorne Scots Regimental Museum! (August 29th, 2024)! We had an outstanding turnout of 30+ volunteers.
Kicking off the event strong with a tour of the newly opened museum, volunteers were able to take an in-depth look at the rich history of the Lorne Scots Regiment in Brampton. Youth from the SYC had the opportunity to try on gear/equipment unique to those time periods, as well as listen to a presentation from one of the founders of the museum!
From there, the SYC moved over to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 15 a few blocks away, where members enjoyed a well deserved pizza party and cake. In thanks for their dedication and hard work, youth were also presented with certificates of recognition. Feedback from our volunteers said that it was the perfect way to finish off a busy and engaged summer on a high note!
