The City of Brampton’s Economic Development Office, in partnership with Toronto and Region Conservation Authority’s (TRCA) Partners in Project Green, is launching the Brampton Business Climate Action Program, a new initiative to help local businesses advance their sustainability goals while cutting costs and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
“We know that sustainability and innovation go hand in hand. By investing in local businesses through this program, we’re creating space for climate leadership, clean growth and long-term community resilience.” – Rowena Santos, Regional Councillor, Wards 1 & 5; Vice-Chair, Economic Development, City of Brampton
With only 10 spots available per year, the program will offer Brampton businesses free access to individual site assessments and tailored action plans aimed at improving energy efficiency and reducing environmental impact. The first cohort will begin in 2025, with all program costs covered by the City.
This initiative supports Brampton’s broader climate commitments and offers businesses a competitive edge by identifying opportunities to lower operational costs and strengthen resilience in a rapidly evolving economic landscape. Incorporating ESG principles is no longer just a regulatory environmental consideration but a critical economic strategy for businesses.
Through expert-led assessments and actionable climate strategies, participants will be empowered to take meaningful steps toward sustainability, benefitting their operations while contributing to a cleaner, more energy-efficient city.
This program is part of the City’s ongoing work to foster a thriving local economy ready for the future.
