City of Brampton Marks the Grand Opening of Maple Lodge Farms’ New Chicken Shop Flagship Location

The City of Brampton celebrated the grand opening of Maple Lodge Farms’ newly rebuilt Chicken Shop flagship location, marking a major investment by one of the city’s longstanding employers and a continued boost to Brampton’s foodprocessing and agri-food sector.

The Honourable Doug Ford, Premier of Ontario, joined Mayor Patrick Brown, Chair of Economic Development, Gurpartap Singh Toor, Regional Councillor, Michael Palleschi, Sonia Sidhu, Member of Parliament, Brampton South, Fred Marques, CEO of Maple Lodge Farms, and other Maple Lodge Farms representatives for a ribbon-cutting ceremony and facility tour celebrating the opening of the new 24,000-square-foot flagship location.

Located at 8175 Winston Churchill Blvd., the new flagship facility reimagines Maple Lodge Farms’ longstanding retail operations with expanded food-service offerings, prepared foods, a quick-service restaurant with seating areas, and locally sourced products. Representing an investment of approximately $30 million, the redevelopment underscores the company’s continued confidence in Brampton—home to its operations since 1955—and supports 80 new jobs.

The Chicken Shop has served Brampton and surrounding communities for more than 50 years and continues to play an important role as both a retail destination and community gathering space. The redeveloped facility also highlights Maple Lodge Farms’ commitment to supporting Ontario producers, featuring products from more than 25 local vendors and suppliers across the province.

As Canada’s largest independent, family-owned poultry processor with close to 3,300 employees across its operations, Maple Lodge Farms remains a major employer in Brampton’s food-processing sector, further reinforcing the city’s role as a hub for advanced food manufacturing, food processing, and local employment growth.
