On March 8, the City of Brampton will celebrate International Women’s Day, honouring the achievements and contributions of women and individuals who identify as women, whose efforts continue to shape Brampton into a thriving and inclusive community.
“Achieving gender equity requires action and that’s exactly what this year’s International Women’s Day theme calls for. I am proud of the steps Brampton is taking, from the creation of the Brampton Women Empowerment Network to the launch of GBA+ training, to ensure women have opportunities to lead, grow and succeed. Let’s continue to support, mentor and uplift one another as we work toward a more equitable future for all.”
– Rowena Santos, Regional Councillor, Wards 1 and 5; Chair, Community Services, City of Brampton
This year’s theme is Accelerate Action and encourages meaningful steps toward gender equity. Residents are invited to take part by attending events, supporting women-owned businesses and creators, volunteering with community groups, or mentoring others.
