In 2024, garbage-related service requests made up 33% of all requests, with 43% of penalty notices issued for repeat violations. To crack down on negligent property owners, the Committee of Council has approved increased fines for excessive and improperly stored garbage, alongside stricter bylaw enforcement measures. Councillor Santos emphasizes the need for accountability, urging residents to respect their neighbourhoods and warning that those who fail to comply will face financial consequences.
