Councillor Santos Makes Final Appeal to Premier Ford: Work With Us, Not Against Us on Speed Camera Compromise

Councillor Rowena Santos is urging Premier Doug Ford to collaborate with municipalities on a balanced approach to Automated Speed Enforcement (ASE) instead of eliminating it. She calls for keeping speed cameras in school zones, targeting excessive speeding, and ensuring fair fines. Santos emphasizes that ASE remains one of the most effective tools for protecting residents and reducing dangerous driving.

Highest Speeding Vehicles (ASE Camera) – Top 10

Automated Speed Enforcement (ASE) cameras are helping to keep Brampton’s roads safer by encouraging drivers to slow down gradually, especially near schools and in Community Safety Zones. These cameras are a proven, effective alternative to physical speed bumps on wider, busy roads where safety and traffic flow both matter.

Statement from Councillor Rowena Santos on Automated Speed Enforcement (ASE)

Safety must always be the top priority. I do not support eliminating ASE, as Premier Ford has suggested. Instead, I believe the solution […]
