Regional Councillor Brampton Wards 1 & 5

Brampton Expands Support for Our Seniors

Supporting seniors is one of Brampton’s top priorities. From free transit to free recreation programs, we are committed to helping older adults in our city stay active, connected, and engaged.

At the meeting on September 24, Council approved a motion that takes another important step forward: seniors clubs will now have free access to City recreation centre rooms on weekends for meetings, activities, and programs. This builds on the existing support that already provides weekday access at no cost.

As Chair of Community Services, I was pleased to support this motion and want to thank Regional Councillor Keenan for bringing it forward, with Mayor Brown as seconder. Together, we are building a more inclusive city where seniors can stay active and thrive.

Also, I look forward to seeing many of you at the Brampton Older Adult Alliance Summit on Tuesday, October 14. It will be a great opportunity to hear directly from seniors and community leaders about how we can continue to do even more.

Brampton is a city that celebrates and supports our seniors, and I am proud to play a role in making that happen.
