Regional Councillor Brampton Wards 1 & 5

ECR Community Meeting: March 1, 2026

On Sunday, March 1st, we held a community meeting for residents of Estates of the Credit. Thank you to staff from Public Works, Peel Regional Police, the Director of Bylaw Enforcement, and our teams for supporting the discussion. The meeting provided residents with an opportunity to raise concerns related to traffic enforcement, snow clearing, crime, park maintenance, waste management, and property taxes, and to receive updates directly from staff.

Action Items
  • Residents to send disputed ASE tickets to Councillors for further review.

  • Request noise study review for Mississauga Road.

  • Circulate windrow clearing survey for 2026 to interested residents.

  • Confirm details regarding scanners at intermodal hubs and technology enhancements.

  • Follow up with Parks on grass cutting cycle, fencing request for Luongo Park, and maintenance standards.

  • Clarify proper escalation pathway for missed waste collection (Region/MPP if required).

  • Assess feasibility of additional waste bins near ponds.

  • Schedule spring walkabout with residents.

  • Share links for snow tracking, grass cutting tracker, and capital project GeoHub.

  • Prepare simplified budget explanation regarding property tax and stormwater structure.

  • Strong concern about the effectiveness, cost, and fairness of the speed camera program.

  • Confusion regarding provincial cancellation vs. ongoing fine obligations.

  • Concerns about overly sensitive speed thresholds and duplicate tickets issued within minutes.

  • Frustration with dispute processes and lack of email response in ticket cases.

  • Ongoing drag racing and speeding issues along Mississauga Road.

  • Interest in noise mitigation (sound barrier wall).

  • Snow clearing and windrow removal remain high-interest issues; residents want equitable service models.

  • Interest in participating in windrow clearing survey.

  • Crime concerns include auto theft, break-ins, petty theft, and suspicious vehicles.

  • Desire for better police communication during tactical operations.

  • Recognition that Peel Regional Police are investing in technology, scanners at intermodal hubs, and hiring reform.

  • Concerns regarding littering, dumping near ponds, and dog waste enforcement.

  • Questions around park maintenance standards and garbage/recycling reliability.

  • Ongoing concerns about rising property taxes and stormwater charges.

  1. Coordinate with Regional staff and Peel Regional Police for updates on traffic enforcement, drag racing, and crime prevention strategies.
  2. Circulate windrow clearing survey to this group and track participation interest.

  3. Book a spring community walkabout to review site-specific concerns.

  4. Follow up on specific individual cases (tickets, plate renewal, snow pile, missed collection).

  5. Share links to online tools (if available) for capital projects, snow tracking, and maintenance schedules.
