Knights Table’s New Home Building

For more than 34 years, Knights Table has been a steadfast pillar in Brampton’s response to hunger and poverty offering food assistance and wraparound supports to thousands of residents. Today, the organization is poised to embark on a transformative expansion that will dramatically increase its capacity to serve the city’s most vulnerable.

“Knights Table has long been a cornerstone in Brampton’s fight against food insecurity, embodying compassion, collaboration, dignity, and community resilience. I am so proud of their efforts to expand with this new facility that includes innovative amenities to better serve the community. Let’s work together to support their efforts. Please consider making a donation to help renovate the space.”

– Rowena Santos, Regional Councillor, Wards 1 & 5, City of Brampton

Knights Table has acquired a facility in Brampton that will become a purpose-built community hub designed to meet the growing and diverse needs of Brampton families. The facility will include:

  • A market-style food bank that preserves choice and dignity.
  • Commercial and teaching kitchen to support nutritious food preparation and community skill-building.
  • Dining and event spaces to foster connection.
  • A resource hub, offices, and community rooms to coordinate holistic supports.

This shift from emergency response to an integrated community anchor reflects both the scale of need and a commitment to long-term resilience.

Ambitious Goals, Measured Impact

Knights Table’s vision for the new hub includes:

  • Tripling service capacity.
  • Supporting increasing number of food bank visits.
  • Distributing over 6 million pounds of food.
  • Expanding mobile outreach to increasing number of vulnerable individuals and families each year.

These targets respond to persistent food insecurity that disproportionately affects low-income households, children, seniors, and racialized communities in Brampton.

Investment and Community Partnership

Knights Table is raising $2.49 million in capital support for the new facility purchase and phased renovations to make this vision a reality.

Knights Table is actively building partnerships with donors, corporate sponsors, and community stakeholders to accelerate progress.

Success will depend on the collective investment of time, resources, and advocacy from Brampton’s civic, business, and philanthropic sectors.

Why This Matters for Brampton

This project signals a strategic shift in addressing food insecurity not as a short-term crisis, but as a core community infrastructure need. The integrated space at Hale Road reflects an understanding that food access is deeply connected to dignity, health equity, and social inclusion.

Knights Table’s expansion offers a scalable model for other communities and aligns with broader efforts across Brampton to advance equity, inclusion, and community-centered solutions.
