Are there too many immigrants in Canada? People who say yes often point to the city of Brampton, Ontario.
In this suburb of Toronto, the majority of the population identifies as a visible minority, and over half are originally from India or South Asia. On social media, people blame Brampton for a housing shortage, an alleged rise in crime, and some even go so far as to call it “the worst city” in the country. It’s become a flashpoint for anti-immigration sentiment.
But what’s really going on in Brampton? Pasquale and Thomas went there to find out.
