I’m thrilled to share some game-changing news – quite literally. Toronto Maple Leafs Captain Auston Matthews has been named Team Captain for Mayor Patrick Brown’s Hockey Night in Brampton 2025! The game is on Wednesday August 20th at the CAA Centre. Read the full Media Release.
This isn’t just any hockey night. It’s our city’s biggest charity sports event, bringing together NHL stars, hockey legends, and our amazing community – all to raise funds for a cause close to our hearts: building Brampton’s second hospital.
With Auston Matthews leading the charge, the excitement has officially hit a whole new level.
I’m also excited to announce that my band, Point of Order will be playing throughout the event, with Peel Police Chief Nishan Duraiappah performing with us.
The 2025 Hockey Night in Brampton roster is stacked with talent, including Owen Power, Ryan Getzlaf, Curtis Joseph, Mark Giordano, Taylor Raddysh, Darren Raddysh, Travis Barron, Phil Oreskovic, Blayre Turnbull, Renata Fast, Jeremy Roenick, Cody Hodgson, Terry Ryan, Owen Nolan, Ron MacLean and more, along with event hosts Rod Black and Amrit Gill. With legends, current stars, and fan favourites, this year’s game is shaping up to be one for the history books.
