Brampton Enhances Road Safety with Deployment of 40 High-Tech Speed Enforcement Cameras

The City of Brampton has installed 40 high-tech Automated Speed Enforcement (ASE) cameras, replacing older units to ensure state-of-the-art traffic safety measures. By June 2025, Brampton plans to expand its program to 185 cameras, marking Canada’s largest ASE initiative. Statistics reveal a significant reduction in vehicular speeds, with an average decrease of 6.5 km/h across all sites and up to 18 km/h in specific areas. Councillor Rowena Santos highlights the program’s success in addressing speeding concerns, particularly near schools, ensuring safer streets for all.
