City Council Welcomes Delegation for #RideForRaja Event

The City Council welcomed the #RideForRaja event delegation, an annual charity ride organized by the Mandeep Singh Cheema Charitable Foundation to support vulnerable youth via the Peel Children’s Aid Foundation. This event, held on June 23, 2024, commemorates Mandeep Singh Cheema, who died in a motorcycle accident in 2012, by bringing together riders to raise funds for foster care youth. The foundation collaborates with Peel Children’s Aid Foundation to fund programs like mental health, education, and skills development for at-risk youth. City Councillors Rowena Santos and Navjit Kaur Brar emphasized the event’s significance in honoring Raja’s memory and supporting community unity. The Council encourages community participation to benefit the youth in the Peel region.
