Downtown Brampton Joins Forces to Tackle Community Safety Challenges

Concerned by escalating safety issues, Downtown Brampton residents and stakeholders gathered at Central Public School upon former Councillor Gael Miles’s request. Over 40 attendees, including representatives from various governmental bodies and community organizations, discussed strategies to tackle crime, addiction, homelessness, and other challenges. Key outcomes included initiatives like distributing Faraday Pouches to combat auto theft, increasing police presence, and implementing road safety measures. Participants also emphasized the importance of community engagement, timely response to incidents, and forthcoming programs like the Residential Rental Licensing scheme to address property standards and neighborhood associations’ concerns. This collaborative effort aims to make Downtown Brampton safer and more vibrant, reflecting the commitment of local leaders and residents alike.
