Peel holding summit on supportive housing for abuse survivors June 19

The Break the Cycle Housing Summit will take place June 19 at Toronto Metropolitan University’s Brampton campus, bringing together regional agencies to tackle housing barriers for survivors of gender-based violence. Led by the Region of Peel in partnership with groups like Safe Centre of Peel and EMBRAVE, the summit will focus on identifying systemic gaps and defining coordinated housing pathways. Aligned with regional housing and anti-trafficking strategies, the initiative positions safe, affordable housing as the critical entry point for survivor safety, recovery, and long-term stability.
