Brampton’s new Sport Tourism Strategy outlines 66 actions to boost local economic impact, youth engagement, and community pride through sport. Backed by data and developed with Sport Tourism Canada and partners, the plan targets 18 high-potential sports and culturally significant events. The city already hosts over 30 events annually, generating $20M in economic activity and 25,000+ hotel nights. The strategy aims to strengthen teams like the Honey Badgers, grow Brampton as a training/event hub, and align efforts under a participant-first model.
